After the Carlin hat-trick in qualifying yesterday, Trevor Carlin's team achieved the hat-trick in race 1 this Saturday morning at Monza in Italy. Starting from pole position, Jehan Daruvala had retained his position at the start, but ultimately could not resist the return of Lando Norris.
The latter had demoted at the start against the two other Carlin drivers Jake Dennis and Ferdinand Habsburg, before recovering his position to put pressure on the leader and overtake him to rush towards his second victory of the season after a success at Silverstone in the opening of the championship.
Always remained in the wake of the resident of the bosom McLaren, Jehan Daruvala was unable to regain his initial position and ultimately failed to reach the finish line by less than a second. Carlin, but also the engine manufacturer Volkswagen, achieved the hat-trick thanks to Ferdinand Habsburg.
Joel Eriksson (Motopark) climbs into fourth position ahead of first car of the Prema Powerteam of Guanyu-Zhou, fifth in front Mick Schumacher.
Maximilian Günther (Prema Powerteam), Ralf Aaron (Hitech GP), Callum Ilott (Prema Powerteam) and Jake Hughes (Hitech GP) complete the top 10.
