Alain Prost wants to “take advantage” of it

Alain Prost, double winner of the Andros Trophy (2007-08), is far from having given up in its conquest of a third trophy. Friday evening, at Alpe d?Huez, the Professor even managed to concede only four points to Jean-Philippe Dayraut, and the chase between the two men is not ready to find its end. Only six points behind his rival, the Dacia driver can hope to catch up with Dayraut at the end of the second “Alpe d’Hu” race.

A hope born from a good ranking (third) at the end of the two qualifying rounds on Friday evening. “ With 60 kilos of ballast in our Dacia Duster, this is a very good result, confirmed the ?Professor? before playing his final. Jean-Philippe is second, we are just behind. From an accounting point of view, it's perfect if the positions remain like this after the final. »

And the positions remained that way at the end of the two men's respective finals. Third in his race, Alain Prost conceded two points on his rival, after the two units lost during the qualifying heats. In total, the four points taken by the Skoda driver put him six points ahead in the general classification. A slim difference, since Dayraut will take 40 kg of ballast, while Prost will lose 40 to carry only 20 kg this Saturday, during the second Alpe d?Huez race.

« We managed to score important points even though we were not at our best today (Friday) with the 60 kilos of ballast, comments the Dacia driver. So from a Championship perspective, it's a good day. Tomorrow (Saturday) we will only have 20 kg left in the car. We will have to take advantage of it. »
