Andros – Grosjean: “My first podium in 2014”

Romain Grosjean was able to conclude the year 2014 on a positive note by winning a podium last weekend at the Andros Trophy during Race 1 at Alpe d'Huez (Rhône-Alpes). The former GP2 champion, who failed to defend his title at the Race of Champions contested in Barbados (Caribbean), reached the last step of the podium behind Trophy leader Jean-Philippe Dayraut(Mazda 3) and Jean-Baptiste Dubourg, also at the wheel of a DA Racing Clio 3.

“The results are very positive. Above all, I came here to have fun and that was the case. I am very happy for DA Racing to have achieved a third place. This is my first podium in 2014 » underlined, not without a touch of humor, the Lotus driver.

The French driver was well on his way to achieving an identical result in Race 2 after setting the third fastest time in the qualifying heats, but a mechanical problem on the left front axle forced him to throw in the towel in the super final. Regardless, the outcome of the weekend remains satisfactory for Grosjean. “It was an honor and a pleasure to share the car with JB (Jean-Baptiste Dubourg), he is a very good friend. There is a real story of friendship with DA Racing, but it is also a successful team. The proof with our double podium in Race 1.”
