Aurélien Panis marks the history of the Andros Trophy in Val-Thorens

For a first attempt, it's a masterstroke. Not content with signing pole position at the opening of the 2018-19 season of Andros Trophy in Val-Thorens (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes) on Saturday, Aurelien Panis dominated the debates to collect the victory of the Elite Pro.

The outgoing champion of the Andros Electric won the night race aboard the Andros Sport 01, an electric car against the usual thermal vehicles. This is therefore the first time in the history of the discipline that an electric vehicle has won a race combining gasoline and electric.

Aurélien Panis got ahead in the Alpine cold Olivier Pernaut (Mazda), which is making one of its best starts to the season. The Saintéloc Racing driver resisted the pressure of a returnee, Olivier Panis (Audi). The latter, never stingy with attacks, even spun in the last corner!

The last French winner of a Grand Prix in F1 was, however, demoted to fourth place after deliberation by the commissioners for a reason still unknown. --Franck Lagorce inherits the last step of the podium.

Behind, there was movement. The three-time title holder Jean-Baptiste Dubourg (Renault) was the victim of a collision while fighting against Nicolas' electrics Cheers and Franck Lagorce. This is undoubtedly a bad start to the championship for the leader of DA Racing.

In Elite, victory went to the beginner Aurélien Comte (Peugeot ), at the cost of overtaking Lionel Daziano (Audi) in the last braking session. The Electric trophy was finally dominated by Christophe Ferrier, who won several seconds ahead of Vincent Beltoise and Louis Rousset. F1 expert for Canal+ Franck Montagny finished the event in fifth place. “Andros is Bonard” he explained when he got out of the car!
