Nascar Whelen Euro Series kicks off this weekend in Valencia

Europe's best touring car series is set to kick off this weekend in Valencia for the NASCAR GP of Spain.

The European division of NASCAR continues to grow at an impressive pace to say the least: new high-level teams and for the first time a NASCAR Cup Series champion in the person of Bobby Labonte, as well as a champion of Formula 1, Jacques Villeneuve will be present.

Just like two Euro NASCAR champions, Alon Day and Ander Vilariño, a champion of the Mexican NASCAR championship, Rubén Garcia Jr. as well as a winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Christophe Bouchut. A record twenty-one nationalities and fifty-seven drivers across the two divisions, the spectacle for the spectators is guaranteed.

In the ELITE 1 division the list of potential winners is as long as your arm. No less than nine drivers have already won in this first division led by Ander Vilariño, Alon Day and Frédéric Gabillon, the three most victorious.

It will also be necessary to add drivers of the caliber of Sebastiaan Bleekemolen, Alexander Graff, Ellen Lohr, or Francesco Sini and young talents like Alex Sedgwick and Ant Whorton-Eales.

As is often the case, the ELITE 2 division promises to be the most unpredictable division in Euro NASCAR. Only Florian Venturi of Go Fas Racing can boast of having won a race in a grid which includes fourteen beginners such as Myatt Snider, Vittorio Ghirelli and Giorgio Maggi, but also veterans like Martin Doubek, Nicholas Risitano and Eric De Doncker who will all try to find a place on Victory Lane.
