Dacia invests in the Andros Trophy with Prost

Presented to the press on Tuesday morning, the new Dacia Duster will make its competitive debut during the Andros Trophy 2009 / 2010. Alain Prost will be behind the wheel for the launch of this new model which will also appear on the market soon. By launching the Duster in competition before presenting its road model, Dacia, a brand of the group Renault, also takes everyone by surprise. “ Dacia's desire has always been to be there and not to be like everyone else ", said Stephen Norman, the brand's global marketing director.

« Dacia is only known by 8% of the working population in Europe; the objective is therefore to increase brand awareness. The production model will be presented in December before the physical presentation of the model at the Geneva Motor Show (from March 4 to 14, 2010, editor’s note),” he added. The Dacia Duster, a robust and reliable 4X4 with international vocation, will be the brand's sixth model.

On the ice of the Andros Trophy, Alain Prost will therefore have the mission of introducing this new car. “ I am delighted to race on Dacia Duster. It is a brand new vehicle and I will be proud to participate in its promotion in the atypical setting of the Andros Trophy. On the racing side, relying on Renault Sport Technologies, I am very confident in the capabilities and reliability of the vehicle, which bodes well for a great season to come! He explained.
