Dakar – The complete route of the 2016 edition

As we announce to you in preview in AUTOhebdo n°2029, the organizers of the Dakar concentrated the route of the 2016 edition mainly in Argentina following the withdrawal of Peru in order to respect the dates initially planned as well as the number of stages and the mileage.

Some crews may regret the profile of the special stages which will include fewer dunes and more technical tracks during the first three days, from Buenos Aires to Jujuy.

The rally to the Uyuni bivouac in Bolivia will be carried out in a marathon event which will concern all the vehicles entered. “We are going to set up a completely closed park in Jujuy while the assistance vehicles anticipate the long road to Uyuni. The Bolivian stay retains the specificity of imposing on competitors three days of racing at high altitude”, explained Marc Coma, the sporting director of the Dakar.

The second part of the event will resume the initial route which runs along the foothills of the Andes Cordillera for an arrival in Rosario (Argentina).
