Dakar – Vaucard and Peugeot it’s already over

Collaboration between Jean-Claude Vaucard and Peugeot Sport to work on the DKR2008 will ultimately not have lasted very long, since, as we explain to you this week in issue 2003 of AUTOhebdo, the former technical director of Citroën Sport has given up his apron and already left his consulting functions after a few weeks. AUTOhebdo had already revealed to you last week (see Ah n°2002), the recruitment of the former technical director of Citroën Sport by the Lion to try to remedy the problems encountered by Peugeot on its two-wheel drive buggy.

The last South American Dakar saw the return to business of the French brand in Rally-Raid. Two of the three 2008 DKRs entered for Stéphane Péterhansel, Cyril Despres and Carlos Sainz had seen the finish in 11th and 33rd place.
