Discover the 26 entrants for the first Dakar Classic
The very first Dakar Classic, reserved for vehicles that participated in the original Paris-Dakar between 1979 and 2000, will take place in Saudi Arabia from January 3 to 15, 2021, alongside the contemporary event.
The organizer Amaury Sport Organization (ASO) revealed this Friday, November 20, the list of 26 entrants for this rally-raid historique. Les 4×4 font le nombre avec des Range Rover, Toyota Land Cruiser ou bien Nissan Patrol bien connus du rallye tout-terrain.
But what interests us are the rare gems! We note a Volkswagen Iltis, the great inspiration for the future Audi Quattro at the turn of the 1980s with its four-wheel drive technology, but also a Peugeot 504 Pick Up or a Skoda LR130 sedan from the former USSR.

But the best look on this list goes to the Buggy Sunhill duo. The white will be led by VW buggy specialists Frédéric and Julie Verdaguer while n°229, whose adventures we told you about in n°2283 of AUTOhebdo, was prepared by two motivated friends, Marc Douton and Émilien Étienne.
A few trucks will sprinkle everything with a Mercedes Unimog, a Renault 420 DCI and a MAN.
