Basso at home
Comfortable leader when entering the last loop, Giandomenico Basso did not have to exert his talent to win. Having a 28″1 lead over his only rival Andrea Crugnola, the Montebelluna driver was able to overcome a puncture to put his name on the list for 2e times in his career. Great entertainer of the weekend, Crugnola was satisfied with 2nd place. With Roma Capitale benefiting from a coefficient of 1,5, the two Italians are performing well in their national championship.
There was more suspense for the 3e place since the Hungarian Norbert Herczig managed to beat Efren Llarena by only three tenths in the final ES.
Discovering the event, Yoann Bonato experienced a complicated performance which ended with a puncture at the end of the round pushing him back 18e. In the championship ERC, Llarena and Andreas Mikkelsen did a good job by scoring important points.
In RGT, Manu Guigou missed a few special stages to regain control of the category. Pierre Ragues wins ahead of Guigou while Philippe Baffoun finishes 4the. The biggest battle of the weekend took place between the furious Rally3 class. Mas Bassas ended up winning with only a 2s7 margin over Jean-Baptiste Franceschi who could have had some regrets. The latter consoles himself with his success in Junior. The next round of the championship will take place in the Czech Republic at Barum (August 26-29).
