Giniel de Villiers wins the Morocco Rally

With more than 4′ ahead of Carlos Sainz (Mini) before the start of this last stage of the Rally du Maroc, Giniel de Villiers (Toyota) n’avait pas une marge confortable avant d’entamer le chemin vers une potentielle victoire finale.

Especially since the double world rally champion had the best start at the start of the special. But a mechanical problem (hose) destroyed the Spaniard's last hopes, letting de Villiers slip towards stage victory and final success.

The South African won with a margin of 17'42" at the finish against Sainz, with Mathieu Serradori (Century Racing CR6) finishing in a good third place, more than 32′ behind. Jakub Przygonski (Mini) and Stéphane Peterhansel (Mini), who rolled yesterday, complete the top 5 at 584 and 1h29′.

Fernando Alonso (Toyota), who made a mistake in a poorly marked ditch at the start of the race, finished this Moroccan event in 27th place, while Nasser Al-Attiyah (Toyota), slowed down yesterday by a sensor problem, did not take the lead. start of this final stage.
