Passed the World RX World Championship in 2014 with the British structure Albatec and a Peugeot 208 RX, Jacques Villeneuve will find the rallycross next week (August 4-5) in the new American Rallycross series at Trois Rivières in Canada.
The former world champion F1 1997 with Williams will race on a Subaru WRX STI from the Subaru Rally Team USA. The Canadian will be the teammate of Chris Atkinson and Patrik Sandell. “Trois-Rivières is like my home in motorsport, so it’s once again a pleasure to be back, comments the consultant for Canal + in F1.
Rallycross has grown exponentially since I last drove these incredible cars, so it's great to be part of a sport on the rise. »
Villeneuve failed to secure a podium during his time in World RX in 2014, but notably won a qualifying round at home in Trois-Rivières. An experience that could be very useful to the former resident of the Formula E.
