We knew him to be a big drift enthusiast, but he is also a great expert in the discipline. Between two rallies WRC, Kalle Rovanperä went to “have fun” in Japan in Formula Drift, in order to challenge big names in the category. Result: after dominating qualifying in style, the Finnish world champion won the second round of the season, on the Ebisu circuit.

Kalle Rovanperä obtained a score of 97 points during qualifying, five points more than his first pursuer. On board a Toyota Corolla GR in colors Red Bull, still wearing the number 69 as in the WRC, the young 22-year-old Finn then beat big names in Japanese drifting in the knockout phase, such as Hiroya Minowa and Masanori Kohashi in the final. Next meeting for Rovanperä: the Rally of Sardinia, from June 1st to 4th.
