It’s a moment that drivers and teams are waiting for: the return to action. Concerning the circuits, Italy, via the Automobile Club of Italy, has unveiled the necessary measures to adapt the resumption of activity in the face of the coronavirus pandemic.
The documents were developed in collaboration with the Central Directorate of Sport, technicians and experts from the Federation, the Medical Commission, supported by an external team of specialists in virology and all members of the world of Italian motorsport.
Professional and non-professional athletes, recognized by the CONI, the IPC and the sports federations of national interest, with a view to their participation in the Olympic Games or national and international events can participate in training / trials.
The ACI has thus decided that drivers of national interest are those who have a 2020 sports license and who intend to participate in national and international championship races.
Health measures have been decided with all sports operators (mechanics, engineers, experts) with the wearing of masks, respecting physical distance, and wearing protective gloves. Even the drivers, outside of the practice session, will have to respect the aforementioned safety measures.
A number of cars that can be present simultaneously depending on the degree of approval of the track and depending on the rotations and times predefined by the organizer has been set:
Limitation according to the grade of circuits:
Level 1: 25 cars
Level 2: 20 cars
Level 3: 15 cars
4/5/6: 10 cars
Category A kart tracks: 25 karts
Tracks karting grade B: 20 karts
Class C kart tracks: 15 karts
Grade D kart tracks: 10 karts
Each car or kart can only be managed by a limited number of people: 6 per car, 4 per kart and 4 for other positions such as tires.
Access to the circuit will be largely regulated and controlled. Non-exchangeable personal pass, temperature taken before (any body temperature above 37,5° will result in prohibited access), during and upon new access to the paddock.
Rapid tests may even be carried out if a person presents symptoms and quarantine may be ordered.
The teams will ensure daily cleaning and disinfection of their race cars and technical assistance areas (boxes, tents, etc.). The organizer will ensure daily cleaning and disinfection of technical premises, service areas, officials' stations and common areas (aisles, toilets, etc.).
The dismantling of structures must also comply with current health standards.
Only authorized personnel will be able to access the race management, technical means (Whatsapp, etc.) must be put in place to communicate, while only authorized personnel (drivers, team members, officials) will be able to access the pit lane. and the wall. Rankings will be available online. Last point, the restoration cannot be carried out by a third party.
