The FFSA warns of the resumption of amateur sport

Since the announcements of April 29 relating to the resumption schedule, no official communication has been made to the federations specifying the exact conditions of this resumption.

The three federations have therefore officially contacted the Ministry responsible for Sports on the conditions for the resumption of amateur competitions from May 19.

The three federations wish to take advantage of the moment of interministerial consultation to be heard because they strongly fear, in view of the first information circulating in the Prefectures, that the measures restricting practice on public roads envisaged will prevent their clubs and their licensees from resuming their activities. activities from May 19.

Indeed, the number of participants imagined by the administrative authorities would not allow the resumption of our amateur competitions organized on public roads as the threshold chosen would be restrictive. Its maintenance would mechanically have the effect of making the organizations in deficit and could be likely to dissuade organizers from maintaining their demonstrations.

In addition, the three federations would like clarification on the possibility for their organizers to welcome spectators within the framework of competitions taking place in Outdoor ERPs (Type PA) which would not have a limit relating to the number of participants. .

It is indeed essential to establish certainty on the application of the public reception system to our practice sites, both on Autocross circuits and on Motocross circuits or on BMX stadiums for example, which structurally do not have seats.

Be convinced that the FFSA defends the interests of all motorsport and motorsport stakeholders. karting so that the relaunch of activities can benefit everyone, while respecting the government provisions that will be applicable.

We will keep you informed as soon as we have specific information from the Ministry responsible for Sports.

Nicolas Deschaux – President of the FFSA:

“Our problems being, during this period, shared by the FFM and the FFC, it was logical that we united to challenge the Ministry responsible for Sports so that clarifications could be provided now. We would like to know the exact conditions of the resumption otherwise the announcement of April 29 will be disappointing for the sports sector. Even though we understand that visibility is a luxury that no one can afford since the start of the crisis, the organizers of sports competitions planned for the coming weeks lack concrete information regarding the progress of their competitions. It is difficult to imagine for all the organizers whose files are being examined by the prefectural services, not to have any information knowing that it is the precise measures which will ultimately dictate whether or not the competitions will take place. .

Therefore, it was obvious for the three federations not to wait any longer and to contact the Ministry responsible for Sports directly. With the FFM and the FFC, the FFSA continues to be fully mobilized to support all the organizers during this period of relaunch of activity. »
