But Marc Laboulle did not have an easy task, due to the arrival of Samuel Peu, French champion in Division 1A since Mayenne (September 20), in the higher category. Samuel Peu even stood out for his first race in Division 1, taking pole position against the big names in the discipline.
At the start of the race, however, it was the experienced Marc Laboulle who got the best start, ahead of Samuel Peu and David Meslier. Of the three men, it is the latter who takes the joker turn first, before Samuel Peu imitates him. The maneuver benefits David Meslier, who manages to emerge in front of Samuel Peu. As usual, Marc Laboulle rushes into the slow lap during the last pass. With a bit of success, Picard comes out just ahead of David Meslier. The driver of the Citroën Xsara WRC thus wins his eighth event of the season, in twelve weekends, and concludes a 2009 season of great beauty.
