Extreme E Season XNUMX Schedule Revealed

The inaugural season of Extreme E now has its calendar. Scheduled for 2021, the electric SUV competition will take place between January and October on five different continents.

Lake Rose located 30 kilometers from Dakar (Senegal), known for having hosted the arrival of the Paris-Dakar until 2007, will be the scene of the first event. Each circuit will be built on an area of 10 km2, the tests and races will be spread over three days.

Then head to the desert of Saudi Arabia, before a series of two meetings with very cool temperatures, in Nepal then in Greenland. The season will end in the Amazon rainforest, Brazil.

The delays between each trip are partly explained by the principle of transporting the entire paddock aboard the Royal Mail Ship Saint Hélène. Nowadays, four teams have confirmed their presence : Abt, HWA, Venturi and Veloce Racing.

“Bringing together five races when Extreme E was just an idea on a restaurant tablecloth last January is an achievement that makes me very proud, explains the championship’s founder, Alejandro Agag.

Over the past six months, I have seen the effects of climate change on these various places around the globe. It was a life lesson. If you don't believe in global warming and the problems it causes, I invite you to follow our expedition next year. »
