Amateur motorsport will resume under certain conditions

The Ministry responsible for Sports heard the appeal of the French Motorsport Federation (FFSA), published Wednesday May 12. Amateur races will be able to take place in France from May 19.

This recovery does not happen without some strict health measures. Thus, it has been decided that rallies and hill climbs will not be able to accommodate more than 50 competitors until June 8.

This gauge will be increased to a maximum of 500 participants from June 9. Competitions taking place on circuits are better off: for them, no limit on participants has been announced.

Other good news is that spectators will be able to attend these events (circuits, rallies, hill climbs). If we judge by the Health protocol during sporting events taking place in public spaces distributed by the Ministry of Sports: « During the three phases, spectators can only be accommodated in defined arrival and departure areas. (probably for the rally and the hill climb. Editor’s note). These zones will respect the rules of ERP PA. On the route, the application of the common law gathering rule applies to everyone (i.e. 10 people maximum from May 19 to June 29). »
