Ligier European Series – Orhès and Les Deux Arbres take revenge

For a long time, we believed that the No. 4 Ligier JS P23 entered by HP Racing by Monza Garage of Jacopo Faccioni-Alessandro Cicognani would score a double in its category on the Red Bull Ring. But that was without counting on a drive through for excessive speed in the pit lane.

A boon for the Les Deux Arbres team, which scored a double during the second race of the second round of the season, on the Red Bull Ring. On the highest step of the podium, we find Patrice Lafargue, the boss of IDEC Sport, who took the checkerboard with a lead of 39”3 over Jacques Nicolet.

“This morning’s race was a little complicated,” admitted Patrice Lafargue. We did everything we shouldn't do. But it allowed me to get to grips with the Ligier JS P4, which I didn't know at all. This afternoon, for race 2, all the planets were aligned. We even had good weather. It was a real pleasure to discover the car and the atmosphere of the Ligier European Series, which is fantastic. I quickly felt comfortable in the car, which is essential. She reacts well and quickly puts you at ease. It was a great discovery. »

In JS2 R, the duel between the No. 24 of Orhès Racing and the No. 53 of M Racing was intense in each session. And this time it was the first city, led by Mathieu Martins and Olivier Pernaut, who won, while finishing fourth overall.

“We are delighted,” underlined Olivier Pernaut. We started the second race from pole position thanks to an intelligent strategy. Then the race met our expectations despite a difficult start. I got caught in a funnel at the first turn. But we rode at a constant pace, two and three tenths behind Natan (Bihel. Editor’s note). We had calculated our move! »

The two men crossed the finish line with a lead of 7”2 over Natan Bihel, winner of his third race in as many starts a few hours earlier. On the third step of the podium, we find Laurent Millara, who also defends the interests of M Racing.

After the first two rounds, Natan Bihel dominates the general classification in JS2 R with 93 points on the clock, 17 more than the Olivier Pernaut-Mathieu Martins duo. In JS P4, the pair Alessandro Cicognani-Jacopo Faccioni leads the way with 80 units, eight more than Jacques Nicolet.
