Nasser Al-Attiyah: “Many will be lost”

Already two stage victories in three days on the Dakar Rally 2021 for the duo Nasser Al-Attiyah – Mathieu Baumel. The tandem of Toyota Gazoo Racing showed itself to be uncompromising this Tuesday on the loop designed around Wadi Ad-Dawasir in Saudi Arabia.

In a stage where navigation was of paramount importance, the Franco-Qatari pair did not hesitate on the course to follow, winning with more than 2′ over rookie Henk Lategan (Toyota) and more than 4′ over Stéphane Peterhansel (Mini).

A nice blow for Al-Attiyah and Baumel, since in the general classification, the crew is five minutes behind Monsieur Dakar. “I really attacked, without making any mistakes, and everything worked out well, underlines the Qatari.

Opening the track and managing to win the stage means that we did a great job with Mathieu. I think that navigation was also very difficult in a certain place and that many will get lost. »

What notably happened to Carlos Sainz (Mini), the Spaniard conceding more than half an hour this Tuesday.
