Reassuring news for David Castera

More fear than harm obviously for David castera. The co-pilot of Stephane Peterhansel had to be evacuated yesterday at the start of the ninth stage of the 2019 Dakar (a loop around Pisco), suffering from back pain after a shock suffered in the Mini JCW Buggy n°304.

A mishap which had forced the tandem to abandon, but which ended without serious injuries for Castera, with X-Raid confirming last night the diagnosis made at the Lima hospital.

“No bone fractures were detected in the spine, indicates the stable. In addition, there is no lesion at the level of the capsule and the ligament. The wounds will heal without consequences. »

David Castera was injured in a dune passage, as Stéphane Peterhansel explains. “We landed in the next dune, specifies the record holder for victories on the Dakar. It all happened so quickly that David, who was looking at the road book at the time, wasn't expecting the impact. »

All AUTO editorial staffhebdo wishes a speedy recovery to David Castera.
