A few days after imposing himself on the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the circumstances we know, Romain Dumas headed to Pikes Peak in the United States to compete in the 2016 edition, the 100th anniversary of the famous race to the clouds. Yesterday, the driver of the Norma M20 RD Limited tackled qualifying and achieved the best provisional time in the Unlimited category, on the lower part of the climb, in 3'34 "552.
“We need to find the right compromise to be comfortable in both fast curves and hairpins, underlines Romain Dumas. We made some corrections between the two sessions, things are going in the right direction. The car behaves quite well and we are faster than in 2014, so it's a good start. The team works well and everyone's involvement is as important as ever. »
This Thursday, the qualifying session notably featuring the Electric category, in which reigning champion Rhys Millen is competing, will take place on the slopes of Pikes Peak.
