Prost: “Significant potential”

Alain Prost and the Andros drivers are tackling the sixth round of the Trophy this weekend, in St Dié des Vosges. The four-time world champion Formula 1 recognizes that he does not mind driving on an atypical circuit since, although located at an altitude of 350 meters, it offers an icy coating thanks to a refrigeration system. But the warmth of the spectators' welcome interests the Professor more, as does the particularity of the route.

« We had already raced here two years ago, but then we only used the oval, comments Alain Prost. This time, the route is significantly different with a fairly winding road section. I think it will be interesting for the competitors and the spectators. The Vosges meeting is always characterized by a warm and enthusiastic atmosphere. »

After encouraging results at Lans en Vercors, the former F1 driver hopes that the Duster will prove even more competitive. “ We have taken a big step forward. The potential of Dacia Duster is very significant, but we are still not exploiting it 100%. Victory was within our reach without a slight touch during a qualifying round. It's a little frustrating, but I'm counting on the Saint-Dié-des-Vosges weekend to return to victory. We will continue to work to increase our level of performance. »

The format of the weekend races is particular in the Vosges, since only the qualifying heats of race 1 will be contested on Saturday evening, before the qualifying heats of race 2 on Sunday morning. The finals of the two races will then be contested.
