18 entered in WRX in Latvia
The second meeting of the World Championship rallycross will take place in Riga, Latvia on September 19 and 20 with two rounds on the program. The organizers announced a list of 18 entrants, including reigning champion Timmy Hansen, on the Peugeot 208 from his own team as well as championship leader Johan Kristoffersson in the Volkswagen Polo, also from his personal team. Mattias Ekström, winner of a round in Sweden, will not be present.
In addition to permanent entrants like the Frenchman Guerlain Chicherit, we will notably find the Latvian Reinis Nitiss, double European rallycross champion. He will race on an ESmotorsport Skoda Fabia. Finnish Jani Paasonen will continue his season in a Ferratum team Ford Fiesta. Hungarian Krisztian Szabo, who debuted at the first meeting with the Gronholm RW SET Team, will be at the wheel of a Hyundai i20. Belgian Enzo Ide will make his return to WRX after his serious accident a year ago with the JC Raceteknik team and his Audi S1.
The European Rallycross Championship and Projekt E will also race on September 19 and 20.
