British RX – Sébastien Loeb wins at Silverstone

Lined up at the start of the first round of the British RX to prepare for the 2018 World RX season, Sébastien Loeb (Peugeot 208 WRX) dominated the final stages of the Silverstone event to achieve success this Saturday on the other side of the Channel.

After his notable return from Rally from Mexico with the Citroën C3 WRC (leader before a puncture on Saturday), the nine-time world champion initially saw Andreas Bakkerud (Audi S1 ​​– EKS RX) dominate the qualifying heats.

But the Frenchman made the charge in the semi-final, winning his race ahead of Kevin Procter (Ford Fiesta), while at the same time, Timmy Hansen, also in a Peugeot 208 WRX, was faster than Bakkerud in the another semi-final.

Starting from pole, Loeb then took the advantage of his teammate during the final, to win at the finish ahead of Hansen and Bakkerud. Guerlain Chicherit, committed to a Renault Clio RS was unable to reach the final stages. The four World RX residents will meet at the opening of the World Championship, from April 14 to 16 in Barcelona, ​​Catalonia.
