Ford ready to launch into the E-WRX?

If Ford will set foot again Rallycross by supporting the Stard team which enters Fiestas in World RX, the Blue Oval brand could resume a full program when the world championship goes electric in 2021.

This is what Mark Rushbrook, director of Ford Performance, revealed to us in issue 2201 of AUTOhebdo.

“We are still studying an arrival in E-WRX, the manufacturers having until March (the deadline is set for the 29th) to ensure their commitment for 2021. It is still an option for us even if the final decision is not has not yet been taken. There are many options available to us. But there is the WRX and the ARX and, just like in Endurance, we would like a common platform. It's not defined but it will play a role in our decision.", said the director of Ford Performance who clarified that the year 2020 would have been too early to focus communication around this possible program.

Ford was entered in World RX in 2016 and 2017 with Ken Block's Hoonigan Racing structure.
