GCK with Raymond and De Ridder

GC Kompetition will have a very busy schedule in World RX this year. The Guerlain Chicherit structure will field no less than four full-time cars. If the presence of Anton Marklund alongside the boss-driver was expected, the French team will be further strengthened by the presence of Cyril Raymond, 3rd in Euro RX last year, and Guillaume de Ridder, vice-champion of the RX2.

Newcomers will be integrated into the GCK Academy which will engage the Renault Clio RS RX alongside the Mégane RS RX. The structure will benefit from the support of Fors Performance which entered these models in the French Championship of Rallycross.

“2019 is a very big year for GCK, confirms Guerlain Chicherit. We made our debut in World RX last year and have worked extensively to further develop the Mégane RS RX GCK, the first car designed and built from the ground up to compete in rallycross. Entering the Championship with 4 cars is a big step forward. This allows me to race in the Mégane RS RX GCK alongside Anton, with whom I have worked closely in recent months, but also to help two super talented drivers, Cyril and Guillaume, to develop in a championship of the world behind the wheel of the Clio RS RX GCK. »

“I have already been in contact with GCK since last July, which means we have already had a lot of time to work together on the upcoming season, adds Anton Marklund who competed in the last three events of the season with the Mégane RS RX. Fors Performance then asked me to help them develop the Clio GCK over the winter, allowing me to spend a lot of time working closely with the team running the cars this year. With all the opportunities coming this season, I already feel very comfortable in the team. I am sure that with the development and preparations we have made over the winter, we have a good chance of racing at the front in 2019.”

The dream is coming true for Cyril Raymond and Guillaume de Ridder who have been aiming for the flagship rallycross championship for several years.

“My goal in 2019 is to improve driving in supercars and be a good teammate, comments the 2016 RX Lites champion. I would like to show my potential behind the wheel, but also in the paddock at work. My goal is to be in the final in every race. Joining the GCK Academy is a very important moment in my career. I finally became a World RX racing driver. It's a dream come true, I will never forget this moment. »

“This is an incredible opportunity, bounces back Guillaume de Ridder, engineer at Renault Sport F1 à Viry-Chatillon. To be recognized as one of two junior drivers representing the team is a fantastic recognition. For many years now I have worked so hard and given everything I have, sometimes even more than that, to reach the highest level in motorsport…”
