GRX strengthens its presence in World RX for 2019

World RX will always be able to count on the full-time commitment of two Hyundai i20 Supercars GRX for Niclas Grönholm and Timur Timerzyanov.

Marcus Grönholm's stable, which will make its return in WRC this weekend with a Toyota Toyota Gazoo Racing's Yaris will also strengthen its presence, with the operation of a third car for the Latvian Reinis Nitiss, reigning Euro RX champion.

The latter will not, however, be aligned over the entire ten rounds of the season, with a program planned on “several races”, and still to be formalized. Nitiss will also be conducting development sessions with the i20 throughout 2019.

“We knew our first season with a new car would be difficult, but we exceeded our expectations in 2018, says Marcus Grönholm. Throughout the winter break, we have worked hard to improve our i20 Supercars and take the next step in 2019.

With this project we are thinking long term and I am happy to be able to count on the same base for the team and the same line-up of drivers who can continue their work and fight for the leading positions in the championship. »

The 2019 World RX will begin on April 5 in Abu Dhabi.
