Kevin Abbring prefers World RX with GCK

Kevin Abbring was due to compete in Euro RX in a Clio RS RX entered by the GCK team, but the Dutchman has changed his plans and prefers to continue racing in World RX. The former resident of ES Motorsport will be entered in at least four rounds at the world level with the Guerlain Chicherit structure which will therefore line up up to 6 cars on the grids.

“It’s great to be able to race at the top level again after my World RX debut last year, comments the GCK recruit. This is clearly where I want to be! It would obviously have been a good thing to compete in a full championship, but I want to be there for the long term and facing the best drivers in the world will be a positive step. »

Kevin Abbring will therefore be present at the Montalegre (postponed), Nürburgring (August 1), Abu Dhabi (October 30) and Cape Town (November 14) events.

“I am obviously worried about the global health situation, adds the Dutchman. We are nevertheless looking forward to resuming the competition and we will offer the best actions of the Rallycross when racing resumes. »

GCK will enter full-time two Clio RS RXs for Rokas Baciuska and the boss-driver as well as three Mégane RS RXs for Andreas Bakkerud, Liam Doran and Anton Marklund.
