Kristoffersson dominates his subject in Höljes

There were no surprises during the first day of qualifying rounds of the World Championship of Rallycross (World RX) in Höljes (Sweden). In front of his audience, Johan Kristoffersson (Volkswagen) dominated its two races to take the lead on Saturday evening with a round count of 100 points.

The Swede, who had already set the best time in free practice, enters the young history of the discipline by becoming the record holder for consecutive victories in qualifying heats (8). “My start in Q1 was important, and I achieved it without the slightest margin of safety, indicates the reigning world champion.

The car was never at 100% of its capacity afterwards but it's a special feeling to achieve very fast laps while driving a car that is not at its best." Behind number 1, we find the Norwegian Andreas Bakkerud (Audi), author of the second and third fastest times of the day.

On a deeply revised Peugeot 208 WRX, Timmy hansen completes the provisional podium, ahead of veteran Petter Solberg (Volkswagen). The nine-time champion WRC Sébastien Loeb (Peugeot ) is in the middle of the Top 12 (6th) and only has a 13-point margin over the last qualifier, Kevin Eriksson (Ford, 63 pts).

Jérôme Grosset-Janin (Renault) allows the GC Kompétition to place itself in the Top 10 (10th) while its boss Guerlain Chichers ranks 14th.
