Johan Kristoffersson scored his 10th victory of the season in 11 races by winning the World RX final in Estering (Germany) for the first time. The double world champion took the lead in the last race against Andreas Bakkerud (Audi), but the final had to be replayed following the accident of Kevin Hansen (Peugeot ) which caused a red flag while he was playing for the podium. The youngest of the Swedish family is conscious but has been hospitalized for tests.

Kevin Hansen was not the only one not to see the finish since Petter Solberg also retired following a mechanical breakdown in the front axle. PSRX had anyway secured the Teams title after the semi-finals.

Les Audi S1 quattro EKS de Mattias Ekström et d’Andreas Bakkerud ont complété le podium devant la Hyundai i20 de Niclas Grönholm, Johan Kristoffersson ayant immédiatement pris les commandes lors de la seconde joute.

Peugeot lacked success since Timmy Hansen and Sébastien Loeb failed in the semi-final. The Swede finished 5th in his race, while Sébastien Loeb retired after breaking his front axle, victim of strong contact from Kevin Eriksson (Ford) who crushed the nine-time champion WRC against the rail.

If Aydar Nuriev won the final, Rokas Baicuska's 2nd place was enough to allow the Lithuanian entered in an Audi S1 to secure the title in Super 1600. The French Jimmy Terpereau failed at the gates of the final by finishing 4th of his semi-final.

The Estering event will be broadcast from 17 p.m. on the L’Équipe channel.
