World RX on its way to Hockenheim

The promoter of the World Rallycross Championship has announced that a 13th round will complete the 2015 calendar, organized alongside the opening of the German DTM (May 1 – 3).

The weekend of May 1st will be busy at Hockenheim in Germany. In addition to the opening of DTM, FIA European Championship races F3, Porsche Carrera Cup allemande et de l’Audi Sport TT Cup, the World Championship Rallycross will complete the program. IMG, the promoter of the series, announced this Friday the organization of a 13th round in 2015 (the agreement covering several years), the second organized on German soil, in addition to the Estering meeting ( June 19-21).

“We were delighted when the opportunity arose to build a new track on one of the most famous tracks in the world, explains Martin Ayani, General Manager of World RX at IMG. There is a natural link with Mattias Ekström who competes in the rallycross and DTM championships, as does Anton Marklund with the Audi Sport TT Cup. » The track will be built at the famous Hockenheim Stadium.

This new meeting will be the second on the 2015 calendar, the championship starting on April 24 and 26 in Portugal at Montalegre.
