When he announced that he wanted to revive the past, Guerlain Chicherit was not laughing. After retrofitting the Lancia Delta to become the Lancia Delta Evo-E, the French driver decided to enter World RX. In 2022, he did a few rounds but in 2023 he returns to the charge with the added participation of Sébastien Loeb.

Back in the world championship Rallycross after four years of absence, the Alsatian decided to take a chance with Guerlain Chicherit and its Lancia Delta Evo-E RX. And the least we can is that both men will look great behind the wheel this year.

Entered by the Special ONE Racing team and prepared by GCK Performance, the two retrofitted Italians will wear the colors of the famous Martini liveries that Lancia used from 1982 with the 037 to 1992 with the Delta in WRC to the delight of long-time fans.

« I find the idea of bringing the Delta back into competition with a decor close to that of thirty years ago super motivating., savors Guerlain Chicherit. At the same time, it adds a lot of pressure on our shoulders, because this car-livery association refers to the biggest prize list in the history of rallying... So we can't miss it! »

After discovering their colors this Thursday, Guerlain Chicherit and Sébastien Loeb will be able to quickly get an idea of the performance of their Delta since the World RX begins this weekend in Montalegre in Portugal. “ It's a very different car from what I'm used to. There is a motor for the front axle and another for the rear, but without connection between the two, without longitudinal shaft, recognizes the nine-time world rally champion.

You have to get used to it when driving and find the right settings. On paper, the Delta Evo-e RX seems pretty good, compact with good weight distribution. The goal will clearly be to play up front, even if I am unable to say today if we will be able to do so. I'm curious to see where we'll be this weekend. »
