Lohéac uncertain to host World RX in 2020

The new provisional World RX calendar offers a program of 9 rounds. After an opening of the season scheduled for the weekend of August 23 in Höljes (Sweden), it is Lohéac which will host the world plateau of the Rallycross at the beginning of September, in addition to the Euro RX, S1600 and RX2 support championships.

However, the organizers of the Breton round maintain their reservations in the face of the risks linked to the coronavirus pandemic. The management of the French circuit will make a decision at the end of May.

“The Covid-19 epidemic which is currently raging worldwide does not allow us to have the certainty of being able to organize this event on this deadline since it is not possible, on this date, to know if the holding of large gatherings will be authorized, and if the health measures guaranteeing the health and safety of people can be correctly implemented", indicates the organization.

“Living with the Corona epidemic means living carefully and taking precautions. As long as there is no vaccine or medical treatment, barrier gestures and physical distancing measures will most likely have to be applied. »

“The health of our 800 volunteers, our public, our service providers, our partners, our officials and the racing teams is our top priority. Therefore, to allow these participants to be informed within an acceptable time frame before the event, the organizers will make a final decision on whether to maintain or postpone the Lohéac-Bretagne Rallycross by the end of May at the latest. »

The tricolor event is one of the greatest successes of the season with nearly 70 spectators each year. Lohéac is due to hold its 000th edition this year.
