Rallycross – Chicherit sets up a new team

While Guerlain Chicherit is setting up a program with Prodrive to hire Renault Megane in World RX next year with his GCK team, he has teamed up with Fors Performance to create two Renault Clio RS Supercars which will be available to drivers wishing to enter the French Championship. Rallycross or in Euro RX.

The association called “G-Fors” will also be able to enter its cars in several World Championship events.

Guerlain Chicherit joined forces with his fellow engineer Stéphane Orré to launch this new team after having competed this year in several World RX rounds at the wheel of a Renault Clio Supercar prepared by the Fors Performance structure.

“I worked with Fors Performance and Stéphane this year and saw how dedicated they are to Rallycross, comments Guerlain Chicherit. The support of Stéphane and the Finn Atte (Varsta, the team manager) for the creation of G-Fors will offer an opportunity for young talents to blossom into World RX. It will also allow me to keep an eye on young aspiring drivers in the hope of spotting future champions. »

The Renault Clio RS Supercar will be produced within the Fors company in Issoire (Puy-de-Dôme).

“I was very flattered when he asked me to take such responsibility for this new team, adds Atte Varsta who had previously worked with Marklund Motorsport and Albatec Racing. With this common experience, I am sure that we will achieve winners in a short time. I have already worked with Stéphane in rally and in rallycross for the last four years and his presence within the team is essential for the success of the project. »
