Rallycross – Enzo Ide signs up with Comtoyou Racing

Enzo Ide will swap the Audi R8 LMS GT3 that he has been driving for several seasons, notably in the Blancpain GT Series, to turn to rallycross. The 2016 Sprint Cup champion with Team WRT will still drive an Audi, S1 this time, operated by the Belgian structure Comtoyou Racing.

“It’s a whole new discipline for me and I’m looking forward to discovering it, explains Ide. Especially the fact that five to six cars are constantly in a pocket handkerchief and fighting a few centimeters from each other, in a style close to the rally.

My 2018 program will include a few test days, including the two official World Championship test days in Lohéac and Silverstone. Later this year I will also make my competitive debut, but at present I cannot give further details yet. »

François Verbist's team, also involved in the new WTCR with Audi RS3 TCRs, will field a car bought from Mattias Ekström's EKS RX team. The latter will enter two new cars which will be entrusted to the Swedish boss and the Norwegian Andreas Bakkerud.
