Record wins for Kristoffersson in Riga

Johan Kristoffersson (Volkswagen) further disgusted the competition by winning the final in Riga (Latvia) as he did last year. The leader of the Championship scored his 6th consecutive victory in Riga (Latvia), his 8th of the season in 9 rounds and thus improves the record of success in a season in World RX while there are still 3 events remaining on the calendar!

As usual, the reigning world champion remained untouchable throughout the weekend, leaving only Q3 to the drivers Peugeot Timmy Hansen and Sébastien Loeb.

The surprise came from the elimination of Petter Solberg (Volkswagen) and Andreas Bakkerud (Audi) in the semi-final. The three-time world champion failed in 5th place behind Guerlain Chicherit (Renault) after finishing in the wall at the start following contact with the GCK boss-driver, while the EKS driver narrowly missed qualifying for the final by finishing ahead of Liam Doran (Renault) and Nico Müller (Audi).
