St. Petersburg included in the 2020 World RX calendar
There was minimal suspense regarding the final version of the 2020 World RX calendar. Largely unveiled at the end of October, it reported 11 meetings but two events were still kept secret by the promoters.
After discussions with the Riga Municipality, the Latvian meeting was preserved as the last European round a few weeks after the end of the 2019 season. Finally, the final question was answered following the FIA World Council on December 5.
A brand new event will be organized near Saint Petersburg (Russia) in the middle of July. The brand new Igora Drive circuit was selected, a track unknown for motorsport but which will host its first international race with the DTM in spring 2020.
It is therefore the fans of Russian Timur Timerzyanov, double European champion in the discipline and fifth in 2019, who will be delighted.
