With three victories in 11 rounds, Scott Speed won his second consecutive Global title Rallycross Championship at the wheel of his Volkswagen Beetle at the end of the final played last Sunday in Los Angeles (California). The American secured the title by taking second place in the last race won by Brian Deegan, finishing six points ahead of his teammate Tanner Foust, 4th in the event.
“GRC is an incredible discipline, commented the American Rallycross Championship champion. This series is making great strides. I feel so lucky to have been able to start competing in Brazil three years ago. It feels like yesterday, but we've come a long way since then. We now have a legitimate championship in this country and it's nice to know that we've been part of it since its inception. »
In GRC Lites, it was Cabot Bigham who won the final and the title with a five-point lead over previous champion Oliver Eriksson.
Volkswagen won the Manufacturers' title with an eight-point lead over Ford, 14 over Honda and 36 over Subaru.
