At the end of the qualifying rounds, the Peugeot 208 Supercar from Team Peugeot-Hansen appeared to be in a strong position to win on Canadian soil on the Trois-Rivières route. Timmy hansen had won three of the four rounds and Davy Jeanney was placed in fourth position in the intermediate ranking.
But the semi-finals held their share of surprises, eliminating Hansen (after contact with Reinis Nitiss), but also the World Champion Petter Solberg (Citroën DS3? SDRX), a first this year. In the final, Davy Jeanney finally dominated the Marklund Motorsport Volkswagen Polos of Toomas Heikkinen and Tanner Foust.
“Even though I won, it was a really tough weekend for me, admits Jeanney. I didn't find a good rhythm during the heats and I wasn't happy with my starts. For the semi-final, I improved my times every lap and my confidence grew. I feel sorry for Timmy, he was in a good place after the qualifying heats and he did a brilliant job. Hopefully he can come back stronger and get a win in Norway. »
Petter Solberg remains in control of the championship with 46 points ahead of Andreas Bakkerud (Ford Fiesta? Olsbergs MSE). In RX Lites, note the second place of Frenchman Cyril Raymond, behind the winner Oliver Eriksson.
