World RX – François Duval in Riga

François Duval will compete this weekend at the World RX meeting in Riga on the Bikernieki circuit in Latvia. The former pilot of WRC will replace Jean-Baptiste Dubourg on the Peugeot 208 WRX from DA Racing, the latter waiting “a happy event in the coming days” according to the press release.

François Duval will participate in a World RX round for the second time this season after taking 15th place in Mettet in Belgium last May. The Frenchman will launch without prior testing with the Peugeot 208 WRX even if he has evolved with a similar model with Albatec Racing during the Belgian event.

“When I received the offer, I didn’t hesitate for a second, assures François Duval. I haven't had the opportunity to do a single meter of testing with the Peugeot 208 WRX and I'm obviously going to discover the circuit. But that shouldn't penalize me too much. DA Racing-Eurodatacar is a private team that comes to directly confront the factories. We will be a bit like David against Goliath, but the challenge is exciting! »

“I hope the weather will be rather changeable, which will help even out the power differences. Sportingly, it is difficult to set a precise objective”, specifies François Duval who would already be very satisfied with a place in the semi-final.
