World RX – Loeb: “A good result” at Lohéac

After the disappointment of Trois-Rivières (Canada), Sébastien Loeb returned to the forefront in its national round in Lohéac (Brittany) held last weekend. Despite difficult final qualifying rounds forcing him to start from the second row of the grid in the final, the nine-time champion of the WRC fought his way through his competitors to snatch the last step of the podium by placing behind Johan Kristoffersson (Volkswagen Polo) and Andreas Bakkerud (Ford Focus RS).

“I qualified for the final and I'm on the podium: it's a good result for the team, especially here in Lohéac. Especially since I was the only Frenchman in the final, underlined the Team driver Peugeot -Hansen. It's not worth a victory but it's a nice performance compared to the conditions this morning. We were in a bit of difficulty in this context. Finding the rhythm and getting on the podium is very good, especially since it was a great final with a lot of fights. It doubled a little in every direction. The show was there and I had a lot of fun in the car. Good results. »

His teammate Timmy Hansen, winner in the previous round, was less successful and failed to reach the final.

“It was a very bad day for me, confided the Swede. We had a power steering failure in qualifying 3 which led me to start behind a slower driver in qualifying 4 which proved detrimental. In the semi-final, Larsson crashed into me in the first corner and ended my hopes of repeating last year's victory. »
