World RX – Muller: “I’ve wanted to do it for a long time”

From September 4 to 6, the French round of the World Championship of Rallycross will be all the more followed as a quadruple world champion will be at the start. After Sébastien Loeb, who had already freelanced in Brittany in 2013 (excluding the World Cup), Yvan muller will make his debut in the discipline at the wheel of a Peugeot 208 RX from the British team Albatec Racing. He will be hired alongside Jérôme Grosset-Janin.

The Citroën WTCC driver is taking advantage of a break in the touring season calendar to move on to another discipline where neck-and-neck battles are legion. “I've wanted to do rallycross for a long time, it's been on my mind for four or five years, but I hadn't had the possibility, the right opportunity, or the time to do it, explains the Alsatian. I'm really looking forward to taking part in Lohéac, which is very well known in France, and rallycross is now at a high level, so I think it's just the right time to do it. The tests with Albatec in Faleyras were good. It was my first experience, so I learned and saw how rallycross was. »

Muller will also join another Frenchman, Davy Jeanney, lined up within the Peugeot-Hansen team, also in a Peugeot 208 RX.
