Title holder in the temple of rallycross, Petter Solberg seems to have kept the good formula on the Lydden Hill track in England. The reigning double world champion won the two qualifying rounds on the program this Saturday and thus dominates the intermediate classification ahead of Mattias Ekström (EKS RX – Audi) and the Hoonigan Racing Ford Focus RS RX of Andreas Bakkerud.
After timid beginnings, the clan Peugeot raised its head in Heat 2, as Timmy Hansen placed the first 208 RX of Team Peugeot-Hansen in fourth place ahead of the Audi S1 of Toomas Heikkinen. Sébastien Loeb, slowed down by a technical problem during Heat 1, took fifth place in the following heat and is now in ninth place overall just ahead of Ken Block.
Davy Jeanney is currently out of the top 12 qualifying for the semi-finals, the Frenchman provisionally ranking 18th before the second round of the qualifying heats.
