World RX – A complicated championship podium according to Loeb

He was eagerly awaited for the French meeting of the World Championship of Rallycross in Lohéac last weekend, and Sébastien Loeb made it a point of honor to get a podium in front of his audience.

In the applause meter, the nine-time world rally champion undoubtedly won all the votes but the driver of the Team Peugeot -Hansen hoped for better. “It’s a pleasure to bring this to them. I would of course have preferred to do even better. » confided Loeb after his final.

After getting rid of his former best enemy Petter Solberg in the final, the Alsatian was unable to come back on Johan Kristofferson (VW Polo) and Andreas Bakkerud (Ford Focus RS RX), who confirms the ascending form of the latter -born from the Hoonigan Racing Division.

The two drivers who preceded him on the Breton podium are also those with whom the Frenchman remains mathematically in the fight for the final top 3 of the season. A goal which, however, still remains far away for Loeb.

“3rd place is obviously good for morale and motivation, but a final podium in the championship will be difficult to achieve […] Afterwards, the level is so high, the fight so close and intense that no one is left. protected from an error or poor performance. »
