Andreas Mikkelsen last minute guest at the Dakar

The entry list for the Dakar 2022 continues to evolve depending on the cases of Covid-19. The last minute package of the American Mitch Guthrie, engaged within the Red Bull Off-Road Junior Team, made Andreas Mikkelsen happy. The driver sponsored for many years by the energy drink was called in to help compete in the Saudi event on a modified SSV in the T3 category prepared by Overdrive.
The Norwegian, outgoing double ERC/WRC2 champion who will remain in Rally2 in 2022, will thus discover the mythical rally- raid at 32 years old. In order to prepare as best he can, the man with three victories in WRC with Volkswagen carried out a “planting in the sand” workshop on the eve of departure this January 1:

Andreas Mikkelsen will not be totally disoriented in the desert, because he will be able to count on the instructions of his co-driver Ola Floene. The 52-year-old navigator had set the notes to the right of Mikkelsen between 2006 and 2015, with success to boot, during the 2015 Rally of Catalonia.
