Régal puts on the gas

The leader of the French Mountain Championship won at La Pommeraye ahead of Schatz and Petit, achieving his best time on the last climb. He thus consolidates his lead in the general classification.

However, things quickly turned to Nicolas Schatz's advantage. At the wheel of his Lola, the driver achieved the best time on Sunday morning on a dry track. With a time of 57??326, he was ahead of Sébastien Petit, Lionel Régal and Stéphane Baudin, all within the same second.
At 23, the Mâconnais proves his ambitions in this championship and once again sets the best time (55??846), during the second climb. We find the same leading trio but Régal gets closer in second position, however seven tenths behind his young rival.
Mais dans la troisième montée, Régal se retroussait les manches et parvenait à battre le chrono de Schatz de 79 millièmes (55??767). Au classement des temps Scratch, Lionel Régal devance donc Nicolas Schatz mais aussi Sébastien Petit, Stéphane Baudin et Benoît Bouche. En série B, la Porsche 996 de Werver signe le meilleur temps devant la BMW 320 de Dosières. Celui-ci, lesté de 60 kilos supplémentaires sur sa BMW, ne parvenait pas à tenir le rythme de la Porsche Carrera Cup de Werver. Dosières, pas avare d?efforts, parvenait toutefois à devancer celle de Soutrenon.
In the general classification, Lionel Régal, with 142 points, is twenty points ahead of Sébastien Petit and twenty-six points over Nicolas Schatz.
