Silk Way Rally – Lavieille wins over Alxa Youqi
Christian Lavieille (Baicmotor BJ40L) won for the 12the day of the Silk Way Rally by linking the 254 km between Jiayuguan and Alxa Youqi in 3h54'21. He beat Kun Liu (Geely SMG Buggy) by 19 seconds and his teammate Han Wei (Geely SMG Buggy) by six minutes.
Binglong Lu (Baicmotor BJ40L) finished 4e 10 minutes behind his teammate while Alrajhi Yazeed (Mini John Cooper Works Rally) finished in the top 5.
This victory allows Christian Lavieille to get back on the podium in the general classification, 20 minutes behind Cyril Despres (Peugeot 3008 DKR), 12e of the day and still comfortably seated in his leadership position. Han Wei remains second but sees Lavieille coming back behind him. Stéphane Peterhansel (Peugeot 3008 DKR) gained one place and is 9e of the rank.
The penultimate stage tomorrow will link Alxa Youqi to Zhongwei with 318 km timed.
