Team Techeetah enters Extreme E

Team Techeetah announced this Tuesday that it would take part in Extreme E, the 100% electric off-road championship which is scheduled to launch in 2021.

Belonging to Indover Group, a Hong Kong-based investment company, Team Techeetah Extreme E will race under the Techeetah banner in Extreme E. The team will be managed by SECA (Chinese leader in sports marketing and management and owner of DS Techeetah) and led by Edmund Chu (president) and Mark Preston (team principal).

Techeetah will take part in the championship with the ODYSSEY 21 E-SUVs, the car of all the teams. The Asian team, like all the others, will be able to make certain modifications to the engine hood, the front and rear bumpers or even the lower body.

The first season of Extreme E will take place over five races across five continents. The first round is scheduled for January 2021 (22-24) at Lac Rose, 30 kilometers from Dakar (Senegal). The meetings in Saudi Arabia, Nepal and Greenland will then follow before the final event in Brazil in October.

• March 4-6: Sharaan, Al-‘Ula, Saudi Arabia
• May 6-8: Kali Gandaki Valley, Mustang District, Nepal
• August 27-29: Kangerlussuaq, Greenland
• October 29-31: Santarém, Pará, Brazil
