Loeb and Tambay will participate in the 2023 Race of Champions

Motor racing is resuming, and the Race of Champions is no exception. And the French team will be made up of Adrien Tambay… and Sébastien Loeb. Since the pilot of rally tends to accumulate records in the categories in which he officiates, he will fight on the track for a 5th title and make him the most victorious driver in the competition. He is currently tied with another Frenchman, Didier Auriol.

The one who finished on second place in the standings during the Paris-Dakar won the competition in 2003 (Spain), in 2005 (France), in 2008 (London), and in 2022 (Sweden). Last year, he found himself facing a certain Sebastian Vettel in the final, the four-time German champion Formula 1 having won the trophy only once in 2015 (London). By finishing in the lead in the first two rounds with more than two seconds in advance, the final result was clear: 3-1 in favor of the Frenchman. Sebastian Vettel will have the opportunity to take his revenge again this season.

However, this will be the first participation of Adrien Tambay, 31-year-old reigning ETCR champion. A pair that could bring a 3^e title to France in the competition (the first two dating from 2000 and 2004). And Tambay will not be the only one to take his first steps in the ROC: the Belgian is also expected Thierry Neuville, the Swede Felix Rosenqvist and the champion of Formula 2 2022 Felipe Drugovitch.

The event will take place again in Sweden on January 28 and 29.
